What Do We Do?
I was asked by the Western Social Science Association to write about a "myth" that prevails about my profession, political science. Here is what I wrote for the Spring 2013 Newsletter of the WSSA. Basically, political scientists are very, very, very rarely politicians themselves. Rather, they attempt to apply scientific principles to the study of politics.

One Step at a Time
One of the cleverest aspects of the Internet is its ability to sort out interesting reading. Here is a New York Times blog that points out good ideas for improving the quality of life of billions of people, called "Fixes", updated every week based upon good reporting. You can check in any time you like...and you can always leave with a good idea (apologies to "Hotel California")!
